Just to refresh your memories, my three characters were:

Daniel, the kind one.

DJ, the stubborn one.

Sara, the silent one.

DJ woke up and blinked the sleep away from his eyes. His stomach rumbled loudly so he stood up and took a peach out of his back pack. He spotted the flashlight that Sara had given him. He picked it up and put it on, only to see nothing happen. DJ scowled and threw it behind him. After burrowing deeper into his backpack, he found a peach. Although it had some bruises, it was still in perfect condition.

Daniel stepped out of his wet cave at the crack of down that morning. He sighed and wondered how Constanza was doing. "If only she had stayed here," he said and shuddered. He just remembered that he had given her his sweatshirt. He tucked his hands into his pockets and walked around, kicking rocks once and awhile.

Sara made her way back to the beach and sat down on a rock, watching as the waves rolled by. The water lapped at her cold feet and she blinked quickly to adjust to the cold water.

Mary woke not long after almost everyone else, and coughed. She put her right hand on her chest for a moment, then yawned and sat up. She glanced around easily, then closed her eyes again.

DJ bit into it and glanced over his shoulder. "Hello, Sleeping Beauty," he said. "Want a peach?"

"Please," Mary responded, laughing and a smile crossing over her delicate features. She moved up, to sitting beside him, her chin on his shoulder carefully.

DJ took another peach out of his backpack and handed it to her. "They're good," he said as if to persuade her to eat it. He looked down. Although he was still on the skinny side, he did look like he had gained some weight. DJ drew Mary in close and put his arm around his shoulder.

"Still sick," Mary warned quickly, pulling herself away from him for a moment. She laughed, then bit into the fruit carefully, closing her eyes. "Mmm," She laughed, then re-opened them.

DJ chuckled. "So? I don't care." He put his arm around her but didn't pull her closer to him. "Do you ever miss your family?" he asked, edged with caution.

Mary winced at the missing link he'd pulled out, and nodded. "Sometimes," She ran her fingers along the edge of the almost gone peach, then looked at DJ carefully. "What about you?"

DJ shrugged and really put some thought into it. "Well, I don't know. I never really got along with Sara growing up, and Daniel, well, I never even knew about him. I guess my parents were just too sad about Daniel to really pay attention to me. And Sara was their little girl. They made sure she got plenty of attention. I actually like it here alot more than home." DJ finished the peach in a few more bits and whiped his mouth against his sweatshirt.

"Awh, you could have told me that. Sara's the girl, the families angel. If you think about it, they always want the girls more than the guys," Mary replied, but quietly. She stifled a laugh when he wiped his mouth, and closed her eyes. "I like it better here anyways too. It's more quiet, and I have things I didn't have at home."

"Like what?" DJ asked, slightly curious. "I like it here because we have no more rules. Parents really bring you down." He sighed but then chuckled, shaking his head. "Plus," he added," I have you too."

"Like you have to depend off of things. Like, all you have is each other and you have to strive. At home, if you want something it's right there, in front of you." Mary shrugged, then bit her lip. "Besides, where I lived I wasn't exactly popular. I have you, and it's nice.. to you know. Have someone."

DJ nodded. "That's a good point," he said, and stood up. "I'm going to get some fire wood for a nice warm campfire. Want to come?" He asked and extended a hand.

Mary nodded, and smiled. "You don't have to ask," She took his hand, and pulled herself up gently, casually.

DJ kissed her cheek lightly and carefully took her hand in his. "Just, if you're going to help, don't carry anything heavy, okay?"

"And why not?" Mary laughed, raising an eyebrow. "I can handle wood,"

"But you're sick," DJ persisted, feeling dumb to point out the obvious. "Wouldn't it hurt to carry more stuff?"

Mary rolled her eyes playfully, then shrugged. "I'll just carry the sticks, then." She laughed.

DJ chuckled. "Well, as long as it helps then you can carry sticks."
